Ahmeenah Young

Ahmeenah Young was an inspiring and dynamic leader in Philadelphia’s civic and business community. She was President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Convention Center from 2008 to 2013 and prior to that served in multiple management positions in the Center. Young was the first African American and the first woman president and CEO of the Convention Center. In this role, she was a fierce advocate for greater participation by women and African Americans in the hospitality industry. Young served on multiple boards and participated in numerous charitable initiatives. She served on the Governor’s Advisory Commission on African American Affairs, and was on the boards of Hahnemann University Hospital, the Philadelphia International Airport Advisory Committee, Temple University School of Hospitality and Tourism, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, the Philadelphia Eagles Oversight Committee for Affirmative Action and the African American Museum in Philadelphia.
